As a child I naturally gravitated to the role of organiser, shepherd, coach and mentor. From a young age I organised my siblings to do chores, much to their bemusement. More often than not, though, they’d get cheeky- so I’ve many years of experience dealing with resistance! I would also write stories for fun, and penned a sixteen chapter story in grade three. Unfortunately I gave it to my teacher who lost it-I only wish I’d held onto it- it might have been a best seller!
Despite my artistic leanings, I yearned to do something in the ‘real world.’ So I studied law and business and followed the expected career path, getting a graduate position with a large corporation. I should have been thrilled, but a few months in I knew I’d made a terrible mistake.
I was bored. I didn’t want to be like everyone else and climb the corporate ladder.
But, who gets paid to do that?
So I did the next best thing- studied International Relations so I could earn money living my dream. That led me to a capacity building role in Papua New Guinea. It was there that I realised, one morning as the tropical birds called against the background of the Owen Stanley Range, that I was ready to put pen to paper, and become an author.
I began writing anything and everything that came to mind. It was rough, but a start. I also learnt about metaphysics, a powerful technique that books such as The Secret are based upon. By the time I returned home I knew I had to combine my love of helping people and writing.
I trained as a coach and a master neurolinguistic programming practitioner. I investigated personal development techniques and teachings like Bach Flower remedies, kinesiology, and hypnotherapy. I also got serious about my writing, joining writers groups and taking courses.
Now, I get to do what I love
Honing highly productive writing techniques that gets my work five star reviews.
I’m also a coach who has helped people move beyond their comfort zones to reach their goals.
I’m passionate about helping others find their true calling, and becoming who they were born to be.
So if you’re yearning for more in life, but don’t know what that looks like or,
you want to get creative, but don’t know where to start- help is at hand.
